Hanoi, 08 April 2025:   To mark the Great Independence and National Day-2025 of Bangladesh, a reception was hosted by the  Embassy of Bangladesh in Hanoi on 08 April 2025 at the local MeliaHotel with utmost solemnity and grandeur.  Ambassador Nguyen Tat Thanh of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Viet Nam graced the event as the Chief Guest.  The event was attended by more than 140 guests including Ambassadors, Chargé d'affaires of diplomatic  Missions, representative of international organization, high officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet  Nam, business representative and Bangladeshi diaspora in Hanoi. The ceremony commenced by playing the  national anthems of Bangladesh and Viet Nam in sequence.  Ambassador of Bangladesh to Viet Nam Md. Lutfor Rahman delivered the welcome remarks. At the outset of  his delivery, he paid deep tribute to three million martyrs, two hundred thousand woman and all heroic freedom  fighters-who made supreme sacrifice for our great independence.   Highlighting recent major milestone achievement of Bangladesh in the field of poverty alleviation, employment  generation, agriculture, education, health, financial inclusion through microcredit and Foreign Direct  Investment, Ambassador Rahman articulated “Bangladesh has made significant stride in all socio-economic  sector of the economy and now it is the 35th Largest economy in the world. The Hon’ble Chief Adviser, Nobel  Laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus is working relentlessly to make Bangladesh a discrimination-free, poverty free, inclusive, modern and advanced nation soon. And in this noble journey of Bangladesh, we seek for enhanced  cooperation from you all, my dear friend.” Referring to the ongoing International Investment Summit in Dhaka,  Ambassador Rahman urged the international community to invest in the key priority areas of emerging  economy of Bangladesh. He also expressed his sincere gratitude to the friendly people and the Government of  Việt Nam for their unwavering cooperation with Bangladesh and assured full cooperation for further  strengthening the bonds of friendship between Bangladesh and Việt Nam in the years to come.  In his address, the Chief Guest of the event, Ambassador Nguyen Tat Thanh warmly congratulated the people  and Government of Bangladesh for the tremendous achievement it has earned over the last 55 years of  Independence. He said, “As one of the fastest growing economies, a global leader in green textile and garment  industry, a key pharmaceutical exporter and the top troops contributing country to UN peacekeeping operation,  Bangladesh has proven to be an important player in the region and the world.” Ambassador Thanh expressed  his confidence that Bangladesh will continue to make greater progress towards achieving its ultimate vision of  being a developed nation soon and affirmed Viet Nam’s commitment to further strengthening its cooperation  with Bangladesh.   Following the speech of Chief Guest, cake was cut to mark the great Independence and National Day-2025.  The guests were served dinner with traditional Bangladeshi delicacies. Notably, an exhibition, showcasing  major tourist attractions in Bangladesh, was held concurrently with the reception, which garnered praise and appreciation from esteemed dignitaries.
